I, on the other hand, ordered this:

Now it doesn't look too bad and I was hopeful, but the sausage looked a little off to me. Looking in the menu I had wanted some meat and I though, oh polish sausage would be a good choice and on the menu they had blood sausage. In my mind this meant sausage that was going to be a dark red color but be like a kielbasa, oh how wrong I was. When I cut into I knew something was off but I figured just roll with it, I'm sure it'll be fine. At first it had a weird crunchiness to it and then...I just don't really know. It was like a mush that in some ways, melted in your mouth. I was not a fan to say the least so I ate the egg on top and then just ordered dessert. When I got home later that night I looked up what blood sausage was and needless to say I was horrified and felt a little sick to my stomach. For those of you who do not know what it is, let me offer you up this wikipedia article that explains all.
After eating that oh so delicious meal, my friend and I decided to head back up to the castle and go inside the church. Sadly, the church was a big no, no picture zone so I have nothing to show. But! We did get to climb up the bell tower of the church, were there were no guards, so, pictures were taken. After we were done at the church we went to dinner and ate a polish classic of perogies and then went and got some desserts at a local bakery. A solid end to an interesting day.

Sloane: Back in the day, I went to West Berlin (when there was still a West Berlin) and had the same experience with Blutwurst. However, I found my self liking it -- altho' later I've been disappointed to find that it conferred no vampire-like abilities -- not even sparkling in the sunlight! Hope the end of your time in the Czech Republic is enjoyable. Learn new things. Rafe and I hope to see you all at Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually going to east and west Germany in two weeks (Berlin), but I will not be trying any more blood based products. I'm trying to do as much as I can before I come back and hope to see you then! Have a good thanksgiving!
