September 9th - 10th, 2013

Don't worry everyone, I promise I didn't die.  Well not fully.  We started learning Czech on Monday and let me tell you, it is something awful.  For a perfect example of how awful it is and the pain it has caused me thus far I will explain the most evil word in the Czech language, "yes."  Now you are probably thinking it cannot be that had to say yes in the Czech language but let me tell you, you are wrong my friend.  In the Czech Republic the way you say "yes" is "ano" which for added effect can be shortened to "no."  Thats right, in Czech no literally means yes.  So to tell you a story of my pains, when you go grocery shopping here you are supposed to bring your own bags and if you forget you can buy one for 10 cents.  Well, I am responsible and always bring my backpack to put things in so I get to the check out and I'm always waiting to hear when the lady asks me if i want a bag.  When she finally does ask I have to think of my response which of course, my thinking noise is "ahhh" and then I always say no because well I don't want a bag.  Well, sadly, this means I have yet to go to the grocery store without paying for a bag.  So there is a synopsis of my learning czech for the last two days and since there is no pictures to go along with my struggles you get pictures of the world's most boring apartment! Yay! (In addition to what you see there is an identical bedroom to mine, another toilet room, a shower room and a single bedroom which I have never been in before.)
