"The Potsdam Conference was held at Cecilienhof, the home of Crown Prince Wilhelm Hohenzollern, in Potsdam, occupied Germany, from 17 July to 2 August 1945. Participants were the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom and the United States. The three powers were represented by Communist Party General Secretary Joseph Stalin, Prime Ministers Winston Churchill, and, later, Clement Attlee, and President Harry S. Truman. Stalin, Churchill, and Truman—as well as Attlee, who participated alongside Churchill while awaiting the outcome of the 1945 general election, and then replaced Churchill as Prime Minister after the Labour Party's defeat of the Conservatives—gathered to decide how to administer punishment to the defeated Nazi Germany, which had agreed to unconditional surrender nine weeks earlier, on 8 May (V-E Day). The goals of the conference also included the establishment of post-war order, peace treaties issues, and countering the effects of the war."

After we got back to Berlin we headed off to the Topography of Terror Museum. This museum was all about WWII and it was amazingly well done. We spent two hours in the museum but if I went back I could easily spend another two hours there. It was so comprehensive and the amount of pictures really appealed to me. I would highly recommend it to any. After the museum we headed off to dinner and ended up at a place called Mama's Favourite. I had "mac and cheese" which is basically the best thing ever in Europe. It's fried noodles with goats cheese and fried onions or sausage on top and it was wonderful. After dinner we wandered through some Christmas markets like always before heading back to the hotel for the last event of our day.

Our last stop of the day was one of my favorite places in Berlin; the Reichstag. We headed up to the dome and oh my was it cool. I took far too many pictures and felt no shame about it. Sadly my walking tour was broken so I just pretended to be listening to him. It would have been amazing if there hadn't been snow on the outside but it was still very very awesome. After the dome we went and got some dessert and headed for bed and our last day in Berlin.
"The Reichstag building is a historical edifice in Berlin, Germany, constructed to house the Imperial Diet, of the German Empire. It was opened in 1894 and housed the Diet until 1933, when it was severely damaged in a fire. After World War II, the building fell into disuse; the parliament of the German Democratic Republic met in the Palast der Republik in East Berlin, while the parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany met in the Bundeshaus in Bonn. The ruined building was made safe against the elements and partially refurbished in the 1960s, but no attempt at full restoration was made until after German reunification on 3 October 1990, when it underwent a reconstruction led by architect Norman Foster. After its completion in 1999, it once again became the meeting place of the German parliament: the modern Bundestag."
